Keeping Madison County Families Safe
Meet Judge Mark Patey
A Life-Long Madison County Resident
Judge Mark Patey has called Madison County home his entire life. A graduate of the Jackson–Madison County School System, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Union University and his law degree from the University of Memphis School of Law.
After completing his education, Mark made a deliberate commitment to return to Madison County—serving the people of his community through 37 years of dedicated legal practice.
A Career Built on Integrity and Respect
Throughout his legal career, Mark earned the trust of both clients and colleagues. He maintained an exemplary ethics record, with zero complaints ever filed against him with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.
Mark represented thousands of local residents and handled more than 900 mediations, helping resolve disputes before they ever reached the courtroom. When cases did go to trial, he built a proven record of success advocating for fairness and justice.
On May 19, 2025, the Madison County Commission selected Mark Patey to serve as General Sessions Judge, recognizing his decades of experience, professionalism, and commitment to the rule of law.
